Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology means the scientific study of human movement. This "new" form of taping, visible a lot on athletes in recent Olympic Games was actually developed in the late 70s in Japan. It is used in the management of sports injuries and therapists have been using it worldwide as a preventative and rehabilitation modality.

Taping is claimed to:

Help reduce the risk of injury by improving muscle function and proprioception. It may also help reduce inflammation by increasing blood flow and circulation of lymphatic fluids thus reducing swelling (by lifting up the skin and creating space between tissues).

Taping may be done as part of the injury treatment process but only when the practitioner thinks it is beneficial to the patient. We do not charge for taping however, you can purchase tape from us.
